This is Vesna Kittelson's first one-person exhibition at Form+Content Gallery. The selected sculptures, portraits and themes in the exhibition Outside the Frame are a collage of personal and conceptual ways of addressing the strangeness of being an immigrant barraged by cultural influences. Rethinking her identity in a new and unfamiliar environment and language required a self-conscious approach to her inherited history. Kittelson expands and combines this history with her meditation on current cultural perspectives and substructures, and brings it to a new visual level.
